A launch doesn’t fail because the product is bad – it fails because the emails don’t do their job. Most people send 2-3 “buy now” emails and wonder why conversion is flat. A sequence that converts has a specific job for each email, in a specific order. Here’s the breakdown.
Email 1: The problem, not the product
Send this 5-7 days before launch. Don’t mention what you’re selling yet. Name the problem your audience has, in their own words, and agree with them that it’s frustrating. This email’s only job is to get a reply or a click – not a sale.
Email 2: The story behind the fix
Why did you build this? What did you try that didn’t work first? This is the email that turns “another product launch” into “someone who gets it.” Skip this and your launch reads like an ad.
Email 3: The announcement
Now you introduce the product – specifically, plainly, with one clear before/after. This is the first email that includes a buy link, and it should be the shortest one so far.
Email 4: Objection-handling
This is the most skipped, highest-converting email in the sequence. Address the 2-3 real reasons people hesitate (“I don’t have time,” “will this actually work for my situation,” “is this different from X”) directly, by name. Silence on objections doesn’t make them go away – it just means people don’t buy and don’t tell you why.
Email 5: Social proof
A specific result from a specific person beats five generic testimonials. “Sarah went from 2 clients to 6 in 60 days using the onboarding template” does more work than “great product, highly recommend.”
Email 6: The deadline
Real urgency, not fake urgency. If there’s a bonus or price increase, say exactly when it ends and don’t quietly extend it – that trains your list to ignore your deadlines next time.
Email 7: The last call
Short. A single sentence recapping the offer, the deadline (today), and the link. People buy in the last few hours of a launch more than any other point – this email is what captures that window.
What this structure actually does
Each email has one job instead of trying to sell in every single message. That’s the entire difference between a sequence that converts at 1-2% and one that converts at 5%+.
The full template pack has all 7 emails pre-written with fill-in-the-blank sections, so you’re editing, not staring at a blank page during your launch week.
