“Batch your content” is easy advice and hard to actually execute, because most people try to batch by sitting down and “just creating” for four hours straight. That’s not batching – that’s just working longer. Real batching separates the different *types* of work so your brain isn’t context-switching every five minutes. Here’s the actual workflow.

Step 1: Topic dump (20 minutes)

Before touching any creation tool, list every topic you could post about this month – questions your audience asks, mistakes you see often, behind-the-scenes moments, opinions you hold. Don’t filter yet. Aim for 30-40 raw ideas; you’ll only use 12-16 of them.

Step 2: Pick and sequence (15 minutes)

Choose your best 12-16 ideas and assign each to a content pillar (educational, personal, promotional, engagement) so your month doesn’t become all-one-type. A simple rule: no two promotional posts in a row.

Step 3: Batch the writing, not the filming (60-90 minutes)

Write every caption/script before you touch a camera. Switching between “write” mode and “perform” mode repeatedly is what kills a batching session’s speed. Write all 12-16 first, in one sitting.

Step 4: Batch the filming/recording (60-90 minutes)

Same outfit, same lighting setup, same location if possible – change nothing between clips except the script. Film in the order that requires the least setup change (all seated pieces together, all walking pieces together).

Step 5: Batch the editing (60 minutes)

Use the same template/preset across all pieces from this batch. This is where most of the “one month in one afternoon” time savings actually comes from – editing 12 pieces with one consistent template is dramatically faster than editing each one as a custom job.

Step 6: Schedule, don’t post live

Load everything into a scheduler in one sitting. This is what actually buys you the rest of the month back – you’re not opening the app daily to “just post real quick,” which is where most content time actually leaks away.

Why this works when “just batch it” doesn’t

The time savings comes from grouping by *type of task*, not by cramming more hours into one day. Writing 12 captions back to back is fast because your brain stays in one mode. Writing one caption, filming it, editing it, then repeating 11 more times is slow for the same reason multitasking is always slower than it feels.

The full batching system includes the topic-dump worksheet, a content pillar tracker, and templates for scripts and editing presets so this whole process takes even less than an afternoon after your first run-through.
